Is February a good time to visit Mexico?

February is an idyllic, warm and sunny month to visit the coastal plains of Mexico, though it may be cold inland at high altitude. While the rest of North America is in the grip of winter, down south in Mexico – along the Caribbean, Gulf and Pacific Coasts, the weather is  sunny, and there is little chance of rain.

February is one of the coolest months in Mexico, with an average annual temperature of 15°C (59°F), but this is for the entire country, and on the Mayan Riviera, for example, Cancun offers a maximum of 28°C (84°F); on the Pacific Coast  Salina Cruz, in the Oaxaca, has a maximum average of 27.13°C (80.8°F) for the month.  Add to this sunny weather the fact that this is the height of the dry season throughout Mexico, with only a negligible amount of rain recorded, this makes February a great month for a holiday in Mexico.
